Why We Use Sodium Hydroxide

 All true soap is made using sodium hydroxide (lye). During the soapmaking process, sodium hydroxide reacts with the oils through a process called saponification, creating real soap and naturally occurring glycerin. Once saponification is complete and the soap has cured for 4–6 weeks, no sodium hydroxide remains in the finished bar.

Cold process soap is loved for its rich, luxurious lather and carefully selected ingredients. Because it is handcrafted in small batches and cured for several weeks, each bar offers a gentle cleansing experience while retaining the natural glycerin created during saponification.

⭐ Keep your soap dry between uses to help it last longer. A well-draining soap dish allows excess water to drain away, preventing the bar from becoming soft and extending its life. We offer handcrafted soap trays on our website that pair perfectly with our artisan soaps.
